VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Thursday, police pulled over a tiny vehicle on one of the main roadways in Vincennes.
Vincennes Police Sgt. Aaron Luce said although the vehicle has headlights, break lights, turn signals, and self-propelled, it is still not legal to be on the street.
He said that Vincennes is a golf cart friendly city, but all other vehicles have to be registered, have insurance, a slow-moving plaque, and a safety flag.
Luce said that they are just trying to educate the community about these vehicles.
“Typically, we are pretty laid back on it as we just want to keep everybody safe,” he said. “We are not out there to cite everybody that is trying to have fun, but we also have to keep the streets safe as well.”
Luce said that residents can’t take these vehicles on any road where the speed limit is over 35 miles per hour.
