LOOGOOTEE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Dana Strange is running for Martin County Commissioner out of District 3.
Strange is from Loogootee and said there are plenty of people in the county who are trying to do good things but thinks people need to come together to get things done, especially in a small county like his.
Dana said he is for the Will Tax, but against the proposed Midstate’s Corridor project in its current form.
He also said speaking with one voice will be vital when it comes time to decide the final route for the project.
“I think, if we don’t have a plan here in Martin County, if it happens, it won’t happen the way we want it to happen so, my thought process is, we have to have a plan B,” explained Strange. “That plan B is to make sure it goes through P2, which is the one that goes through Loogoottee. For us, we’ll benefit in Loogootee and Martin County because, hopefully, they’ll rebuild all of our infrastructure and storm drains, that type of stuff, through the town of Loogootee and make it more beautiful. I’m for that.”
Indiana’s Primary Election is on Tuesday, May 7.
